The first ever (British) Open Championship was held at Prestwick Golf Club in 1860 with the Champion Golfer of the year Being Willie Park. Turnberry and Royal Troon also have held Open Championships.. Don’t forget a quick trip over to Machrihanish for the Old Course and Machrihanish Dunes.
